Art Deco square cut diamond eternity ring. Fifty mixed square cut diamonds are channel set into a very slender full hoop band. The diamonds are a mix of square shapes, all of antique cut. Forty-one are table cut diamonds, square in shape with a square table parallel to the girdle. The other nine are carre cut, square in shape with stepped facets and open culets. The sides of this ring are flat and unadorned other than the date. Because it's narrow it's very easy to pair and wear with additional rings and would make an excellent wedding band! Circa 1920s.

I've been trying to make a pattern out of the different diamond cuts. The setting around them doesn't indicate that they've been replaced. All are also antique cuts rather than modern cuts (such as princess cut) indicating that all the diamonds are likely older and perhaps original to the setting.

The side of this ring is engraved "St. Michael's Day 1924". That would have been Monday 29th September 1924. St. Michael's Day, also known as Michaelmas, is a day of celebration for some sects of the Christian religion.

Diamonds: 50, mixed square cuts. 9 are step cut and the other 41 are table cut. All are of an antique style with an open culet and each diamond is a bit different. Estimated in setting as 0.80 carats, G to I colour, VS2 to I clarity (a couple have chips visible under magnification, I have included photos of them).

Not hallmarked, tested and assessed as platinum.

Size: UK - O 1/2; US - 7 1/2; EU - 17 3/4. This ring is not recommended for resizing.

Measures approx 1.86 mm wide and stands 1.9 mm tall off the finger.

Weighs 1.98 grams.
