Antique 19th century gold and amethyst bauble charm. This round shaped charm is set with six amethyst gemstones. Each of the gems is bezel set in a small gold frame with a single bead in the negative space between them. The gemstones are all different colours of pinks and purples. A small jump ring is attached to the top so that this piece can be added to a chain, charm bracelet or other adornment. Circa 19th century, 1830s - 1840s.

The gemstones appear to be foil backed. Because they are enclosed we cannot access the backs of them. When held at certain angles, so that the light passes through the gemstones, the wear to the foil backs can be seen giving the gemstones a cool marbled effect. This can easily be seen in photos.

Not marked, tested and assessed as 9 carat gold.

Measures approx 1.67 cm / 0.66 inches not including the attached jump ring, and is 1.21 mm by 0.48 inches wide.

Weighs 2.6 grams.
