Antique fern design bangle bracelet set with a split pearl. This Art Nouveau era hallow form bracelet is made from rounded wire of approx 2.65 mm. At the back this bracelet is plain and unadorned. To the front, the two sections bypass each other with an engraved fern leaf design and a single split pearl set where they overlap. The leaves are exquisitely engraved. This bangle bracelet snaps shut with a tongue in groove style clasp which closes with an audible click. An attached safety chain is present for piece of mind. Circa 1900 - 1910, likely British in origin.

Rather unusually this bracelet appears to be made for a left handed person (to be worn on right wrist). When you put a bracelet on, normally the safety chain is worn on the inside, facing toward your body when your arm is extended. I've worn it for the day on my left wrist with no problem. As the daughter of a lefty (hi, mum!) I find jewellery with these small differences fascinating.

Stamped 15 inside the clasp. Tested and assessed as 15 carat gold throughout.

Measures 5.6 cm / 2.22 inches by 4.55 cm / 1.79 inches in diameter. Inside circumference is 15.8 cm / 6.22 inches.

Measures approx 7.1 mm wide in front, 2.65 mm wide in back, and rises 5.2 mm tall off the wrist at the pearl.

Weighs 7.55 grams.
